E3 08 - Microsoft

The only real bombshell from the whole presser was the fall update with new customizable avatars and new interface.Next came at the end with the Final Fantasy 13 trailer followed by the announcement that FF13 will be released on the Xbox 360 in North America. The two other highlights for me would have to be the Resident Evil 5 gameplay and Gears of War 2 gameplay. We were only given a couple minutes of RE5 goodness to watch, but it was very impressive. Gears of War 2 looks like a typical sequel, with a lot more features to be looking forward to but that doesn't mean it doesn't look pretty damn sweet itself.

I'm definitely glad the dashboard is getting simplified, thought it does look like a Windows Vista alt-tab, with cascaded screenshots of your options. The partnership with Netflix is pretty nifty, but an announcement on that front was expected soon.
